Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Power Supply Test Design Engineer to join our Engineering Team. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge equipment and systems that support some of our nation s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to build and further advance GDMS technologies. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Substantial contribution to electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.), design, integration and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems
Plans and leads electrical engineering root cause analysis for electrical issues, conducts experimental tests, evaluates results to formulate and implement solutions to issues
Contributes to the generation and maintenance of electrical work products (i.e. plans, specifications, design documentation, etc.) used for internal consumption and/or deliverable to external customers
Develops and presents electrical requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management and external customers
May contribute to technical subcontract management that may include technical oversight and subcontractor work product evaluation
Substantial contribution to electrical reviews of electrical components, equipment and systems
Evaluates vendor capability to support product development
Participation in the improvement of the electrical organizational processes
Supports the generation of engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycle
Contributes to the research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposal specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of requirements
May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees
Independently determines approach to solutions
Plans and executes project tasks for activities described above
Generally works with multiple work groups, including with senior levels of l work groups
Generally works on diverse range of complex problems under limited direction
Generally has regular Contact with project leaders and Program Managers. Generally has Some contact with external customers
Failure to accomplish results or errors may cause significant delays or require the substantial expenditure of resources
