Description Summary of Role GLOBALFOUNDRIES is looking for a highly motivated lead memory design engineer with at least 10 years of experience. The engineer will work on embedded memory development for differentiated technology at GLOBALFOUNDRIES as a physical design team leader for an international team. The main responsibility of this position is to execute the physical design, verification, design automation, and design kit development for embedded memory. Essential Responsibilities The responsibilities include full custom mask layout of pitch limited circuits such as wordline drivers, sense amplifiers, peripheral circuits including analog components such as band-gap, regulator, pump circuits, analog-digital (AD) and digital-analog (DA) converters, and chip integration into C4 and wire-bond packaging. Responsibilities also include end-to-end design cycle, e.g. from device level characterization macros to functional prototypes and products. The work will be done jointly with GLOBALFOUNDRIES technology, enablement, characterization, product development, reliability and manufacturing teams. The applicant should understand all aspects of physical design including design rules, technology, kerf macros, functional prototyping, and product development for embedded memory mask release including standard cells, custom circuit layout, logic synthesis, floorplan, auto-wiring, synthesis, and design kit development using advanced VLSI design and verification tools. Script development for auto-wiring and coding for DRC, LVS, and R and C extractions, and design kit development for customers is also required. The position may also include work on packaging design of silicon interposers, 3D, and laminates for system level solutions.Perform all activities in a safe ad responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety Security requirements and programs Qualification Required Qualifications MS in Electrical Engineering or Related Discipline8-10 Years of Relevant Experience Language Fluency - English (Written Verbal) Preferred Qualifications PhD in Electrical Engineering or Related Discipline Greater than 10 years of experience in full custom layouts Integration, for FinFET and SOI technology.7 year experience of memory development as a physical design engineer. 5 year experience of a pitch-limited layout of the memory core including memory cells, arrays, sense amplifiers, and wordline drivers.5 year experience of the chip integration including floor-planning of the IP, signal power wiring.Expert using advanced Si design tools, CADENCE VIRTUOSO, RC Extraction, LVS, and DRC.Available to work immediatelyAble to assist other VLSI mask design members worldwide.Expert in IP integration of padcages having IO, ESD, and power-on circuitries. Deep understanding of physical design of the VLSI custom and logic chips (CMOS, SOI, FinFET), including transistor level circuit, gate level logic, microprocessor, and memories.Strong problem solving and technical trouble shooting skills.Excellent collaborative communication skills.Physical design on analog circuits such as pump, regulator, ADC and DAC.Physical design on 3D memory development with Through-Silicon-Vias (TSVs).Experience of the DRC, LVS, and auto-wiring script coding.Standard cell development and layout synthesis using advanced logic tools.
